This weekend was one of the most amazing yet! Jason’s first camp out with his boys, 4 wheeling, lots of improvements and more!

Just Jason, Gabe, and Ollie went up on Friday. They went up a day earlier than everyone else because they wanted to spend the night in Gabe’s tent. They spent the first several hours getting things setup and eating pizza. They also picked and roasted a bunch of fresh asparagus. It was amazing how much the property has come alive with growth in just two weeks, tall grass, flourishing trees, and the sounds from crickets, birds, and frogs echo endlessly in the air. Overall the night was pretty perfect, although Jason was woken at 2:30, 3:30, 4:30, and 5:30 by the trains and their train horns.

The boys woke up and had doughnuts for breakfast and then Jason went into Mauston to pickup mattresses for the cabin. Gabe and Ollie stayed back at LeGiT. When Jason got back he found the boys swimming in Lake LeGiT. Afterwards Jason made some improvements in the Tennyson RV. Later in the afternoon Jason was joined by Marcia, Dianne, Grant, Greg, Mandy, and family. It didn’t take long for everyone to jump right into work and start taking down a few of the obstructive trees. We managed to get 4 trees down and cleared out before the sun started setting. That evening Dianne treated everyone to Chinese food from a local place. It was a well needed dinner after a hard days work. That night Dom and Al stayed with Gabe and Ollie in the tent over night.

It didn’t take long in the morning for the work to begin again. Greg, Mandy, and family needed to leave by noon for kid’s baseball games in the afternoon. Together the family took down an additional 2 trees and cleared a tree that was obstructing the path. All the hard work was clearly taking a toll on everyone as the level of exhaustion was pretty high, but overall great progress and the site is ready for the big Memorial Weekend/Birthday bash.
